UH-78 Rider
Medium Utility Helicopter

DESCRIPTION
The Halcyon Arms designed and built UH-78 Rider is an all-weather medium-lift utility helicopter, designed to be a workhorse helicopter and fill a large variety of roles. It is powered by two turboshaft engines and utilizes two four-blade rotors in a counter-rotating system. While unnecessary due to it's counter-rotating rotors, it also utilizes a NOTAR (No Tail Rotor) airjet system in the tail, allowing for 360o maneuverability of the tail and additional forward thrust. The helicopter is powerful for it's size and can fill most cargo roles of similar classifications of helicopter.

The traditional UH-78 is the most versatile, and can be fitted with most features found in variant aircraft to include a Rescue-Winch, undercarriage radar, the smaller class of winglets (shown above), Mast Mounted sensors, and Wire Strike Prevention Systems. Most models come with the Nightwatch Fire Support system as a part of an idealized military with most units capable of supporting each other in targeting, communication, and data transfer.

To assist in troop transport into combat environments, the UH-78 and MH-78 are fitted with in-floor rappel doors, allowing troops to fast-rope down into combat with doors closed to improve survival chances.

Landing gear are configured in a tricycle pattern and, during flight are retracted into the fuselage for higher speed and to prevent damage.
