With individual preferences a concern, the M23-9CM was designed with the complaints of some soldiers that the M23-9 was too barrel-heavy and that the upper picatinny rail was useless and caught on clothing. Favored among more experienced pistol-marksmen and special forces soldiers, the M23-9CM still utilizes many of the advantages of the M23-9 and only sacrifices a bit of muzzle-velocity and accuracy.
